About the role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Acquisitions will be an integral part of a very experienced, nimble and fast-paced team working on revenue generating matters of the company. This opportunity will provide a great deal of hands-on experience to the ideal candidate.

The Director of Acquisitions will be responsible for sourcing and evaluating prospective real estate acquisitions across a wide spectrum of real estate asset classes and geographies including multifamily, development, and other income properties. The Director of Acquisitions will research, assess and present options and information that will lead to optimal decision-making by the senior management team.

In this the role the ideal candidate will be responsible for:

• Achieving the company’s growth objectives by maintaining an active pipeline of acquisition opportunities with property owners
• Building and maintaining relationships with the real estate broker community.
• Managing the acquisition process, including property visits, coordinating with third party firms, assisting with underwriting, due diligence and closing processes and managing submittal of offers and negotiations.
• Remaining current on lease rates, property values, cap rates and transactional activity.
• Working closely with the senior management team to in helping to establish a strategic direction and for acquisitions.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in a real estate brokerage, development and/or asset management company
• Minimum of a university bachelor’s degree
• A good understanding of the development process and life cycle from acquisition through to closing
• Experience in developing and maintaining budgets, pro formas, cash flows and financial reports
• Strong understanding of real estate financings for developments and existing income assets
